Bengal News Grid ! 77th Independence Day Celebration at Braithwaite & Co. Ltd.


Digital Desk :- 77th Independence Day was observed in Braithwaite & Co. Ltd. on 15th August 2023 with pomp and grandeur. On the occasion, Shri Salim G. Purushothaman, Chairman & Managing Director hoisted the National Flag at Corporate Office and Kolkata Works premises. Shri Kalyan Kumar Coari, Director (Finance), Smt. Leena V., wife of Shri Salim G. Purushothaman & Smt. Archita Coari, wife of Shri Kalyan K. Coari also graced the occasion and wished the employees a bright future. All Senior executives, trade-union leaders, and employees across all levels participated in the Independence Day celebration in large numbers. 




Addressing the gathering, Shri Salim G. Purushothaman, Chairman & Managing Director said, “In the last few years, the Company has immensely contributed towards Government of India programmes like the ‘Make in India’ initiative & ‘AatmaNirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan’. BCL has associated itself with Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL), Military Engineering Services (MES) & Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) for different projects related to National security & commitments.



Through the poetry of Rabindranath Tagore, Shri Kalyan Kumar Coari, Director (Finance), inspired the employees to always be ready for the service of the nation. He also emphasized that with the continuous efforts of all the employees, the company's growth will increase day by day and in this way also we can contribute to building a strong nation.




Veteran Trade Union leaders Sri Srikant Yadav and Md. Farooque Azam also spoke on the occasion. At Angus Works, Shri P.K. Sinha, GM (I/C)-AW hoisted the National Flag and addressed the employees. At the Wagon Repair shop, Vadlapudi, Shri Saroj Kumar Senapati, Chief Project Officer, hoisted the National Flag. Cultural programs were held at Kolkata Works premises to mark the occasion and the ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign.
