Award in memory of Rash Behari Bose !!

Rashbihari Research Institute organized a program at the Kolkata Press Club on December 23 to present the Rashbihari Bose Memorial Award and celebrate "Viceroy Chitpatang Day".



On December 23, 1912, the great revolutionary Rashbihari Bose declared direct war against the British Emperor George V and detonated a bomb in the procession of the Emperor's representative, Viceroy Lord Hardinge, and chitpatanged him from the Howrah on an elephant in the public streets of the capital.




At this event, West Bengal Legislative Assembly Speaker Biman Banerjee complained, "There is a conspiracy to forget the contribution of Bengali revolutionaries in the country's freedom movement. We, on behalf of the state government, have installed oil paintings of freedom fighters in the Legislative Assembly. Their birthdays are celebrated and paid tribute. This year, the birthday of revolutionary Rashbihari Bose is being celebrated. We do not know much about this great revolutionary.






Eminent journalist and writer Shankar Lal Bhattacharya said, "Biographies of revolutionaries should be made mandatory in the school syllabus from a very young age." He highlighted the outstanding contribution of Rashbihari Bose and Netaji Subhas in the freedom struggle.




Veteran journalist Dr. Partha Chatterjee discussed Shamikswapan Ghosh's book 'Aparajeyo Rashbihari' in detail and highlighted the contribution of this book to Bengali literature.
Calcutta Press Club President Snehashis Sur said that Calcutta Press Club will stand by them if they take any initiative for the revolutionaries.






Kalyan Chakraborty, Director of Rashbihari Research Institute, highlighted the journalistic nature of Rashbihari Bose and appealed to journalists to highlight him more.
Kolkata Press Club Editor Kingshuk Pramanik spoke and thanked everyone.
In memory of Rashbihari Bose, the Rashbihari Research Institute of Chandannagar presented an award of 1 lakh taka and a memento to Shamikswapan Ghosh, author of the book 'Aparajeyo Rashbihari' and editor of Sukhbar. Shamikswapan Ghosh said, "Not much work has been done on Rashbihari Bose yet. We have a long way to go." He handed over the entire award to the institution for the work of the researchers and translators of Rashbihari Research Institute.






On this day, Shobhabazar Pratibimb Sanstha for the play "Rasbihari", Shyamal Pal, the author of "Agniyuger Agniswar", Sulagna Chakraborty, the author of "Surya Jahan Nippon", Subhasish Bhattacharya for the documentary "Paradhin Bharatswadhin Biplobi", Ramzan Ali and Shafiqul Islam, the authors of the book "Dui Rasbihari", and Alok Basu for translating the book "Indo no Sakevi" written in Japanese by Rasbihari Basu into Bengali under the title "Bharat Artnad" were presented with a memento.
