The 24th Edition of the India International Mega Trade Fair (IIMTF) 2025, the largest Trade Fair in Eastern India and the second largest fair in India, has begun on 5th December and will continue till 26th December 2025 at the Science City Ground, jointly organized by The Bengal Chamber and GS Marketing.
The 22-day long Trade Fair was inaugurated by Shri Debasish Kumar, MLA & Member, Mayor-in-Council, KMC, Kolkata, along with Shri Rajesh Pandey, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of MSME & Textiles, Government of West Bengal, and other eminent personalities Mr. Abhijit Roy, President, The Bengal Chamber; Shri O.P. Prahladkar, Convenor, Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts; Shri Sunil Kumar, Joint Commissioner, Department of MSME & Export Promotion, Government of Uttar Pradesh; Shri Rajarshi Das, Managing Director, Hahnemann Laboratories; Mr. Chidrup Shah, Executive Director, GS Marketing Associates (our joint partner for this Trade Fair); and Ms. Suparna Dutta Gupta, CEO, GS Marketing Associates.
The main objective of organizing this Mega Trade Fair every year is to showcase Kolkata as the preferred destination for trade and commerce and as the most preferred retail hub.While Gujarat and Rajasthan are the Partner States and Afghanistan and Ghana are the Partner Countries, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh are the Focus States, and Thailand and Tunisia are the Focus Countries for this year's Trade Fair.
While last year there were nearly 800 stalls with a total footfall of 50,000 to 55,000 visitors per day, this year IIMTF is featuring around 1,000 stalls across segments like Food, Clothing, Furniture, Interior, Electronic Appliances, Healthcare, Cosmetics & Lifestyle, Handicrafts & Consumer Durables from across the world and expecting more footfall throughout. This year, more than 17 foreign countries along with nearly all Indian states are participating in the Fair.
"These kinds of exhibitions lead to joint ventures, tie-ups, and they also help bring in investment in the country. In fact, I am sure that major B2B initiatives will be undertaken along the sidelines of this years Trade Fair between companies participating in this Fair and West Bengal-based companies.The Bengal Chamber being an apex body of industry association and as part of its continuous endeavour has been focusing in-depth on the development of all sectors of industry, and it is an important step towards trying to re-ignite business confidence in West Bengal," shared Shri Debasish Kumar, Honble MLA, Member, Mayor-in-Council (MMIC), Kolkata Municipal Corporation, during the inaugural ceremony.

Apart from attracting a wide variety of visitors and bringing together an abundant audience of buyers, suppliers, and consultants from various parts of the country, this Fair also significantly helps in the promotion, marketing, and publicity efforts of participating companies.
