Amity University Kolkata hosts Convocation 2025; over 2000 Graduates Honoured


Kolkata, 20th November 2025: 
Amity University Kolkata successfully hosted its Convocation 2025 today at the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre. Around 2000 students received their degrees across undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes. The ceremony highlighted Amity's continued commitment to academic excellence, leadership development, and global readiness. The prestigious Shree Baljit Sashtri Award is conferred on 23 meritorious students with exceptional traditional and human values.

The event was graced by Hon'ble Chancellor Dr. Atul Chauhan, Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor Dr. Ashok K. Srivastava, and Hon'ble Senior Vice-President Mr. U. Ramachandran. Two distinguished industry leaders-Mr. Sanjeev Krishan, Chairperson, PwC India, and Mr. Rahul L. Kanodia, Vice Chairman & CEO, Datamatics Global Services Ltd. were conferred honorary doctorates. In his address, Chancellor Dr. Atul Chauhan praised the graduates for their resilience and dedication. "Convocation is a reminder that excellence must be pursued with empathy and purpose. Amity graduates have repeatedly shown they can lead with both intellect and integrity," he said. Vice-Chancellor Dr. Ashok K. Srivastava commended the transformative journey of students, noting, "Our graduates leave not merely with degrees, but with the curiosity and values needed to thrive in a complex world." Reinforcing the University's mission, Senior Vice-President Mr. U. Ramachandran remarked, "As I have often emphasised, the true success of Amity graduates lies in their ability to innovate and contribute meaningfully to society."


Accepting his honorary doctorate degree, Mr. Sanjeev Krishan encouraged students to embrace purposeful leadership, saying, "Progress demands both bold ideas and responsible action." Mr. Rahul L. Kanodia, recipient of honorary doctorate, highlighted the growing intersection of technology and humanity, adding, "Future leaders must be agile, ethical, and technologically fluent qualities Amity actively instills." The ceremony, attended by parents, faculty, and dignitaries, marked a proud milestone for the University as graduates embark on their professional journeys.

Reflecting Amity's global ethos, the convocation programme also celebrated inclusivity and cultural diversity, with students representing multiple states of India and several countries. The university reaffirmed its commitment to providing an environment where individuals from diverse backgrounds can learn, collaborate, and thrive, fostering mutual respect and cross-cultural understanding.
