First “Anandamela” in Tokyo: A Celebration of Bengali Culture by IBCAJ

Tokyo, Japan :-
The 14th Durga Puja was celebrated this year in Tokyo, organized by IBCAJ India (Bengal) Cultural Association Japan. More than 200 people gathered to mark the occasion, reflecting the vibrant unity and enthusiasm of the Bengali community in Japan.

As part of the celebrations, the first-ever “Anandamela” (culinary fair) was organized with the wholehearted support of IBCAJ members. The fair featured eight food stalls offering popular Bengali delicacies such as jhalmuri, phuchka-churmur, bhora pao, nolen gur er kshirmohon and sandesh, patisapta, homemade cakes by children, chicken tikka, and Rooh Afza. These traditional flavors brought a taste of Bengal to the heart of Tokyo.

The event was held in a hall on the 7th floor of the Koto city Sogo kumin Center and created a festive and joyous atmosphere. Alongside the puja and the fair, the traditional Sindoor Khela was also organized, where members joyfully participated, sharing in the spirit of togetherness and celebration.

With the active involvement and dedication of all IBCAJ members, both the Durga Puja and the Anandamela became memorable cultural events, highlighting the rich traditions of Bengal in a foreign land.
