KOLKATA:- Kalighat Sports Lovers Association celebrated the 101st birthday of legendary footballer Padmashri Shailene Manna through various events. To mark the occasion, on Sunday 1 September, an exhibition football match was organized at Maidan's kabaddi ground. Seven A side In this match, Padmashree Gostha Pal Football Team won the championship by defeating Padmashree Shailen Manna Football Team by 3-2 (3-3) in the tie breaker.

Shasthi Dule became the man of the match.

Arjun Shanti Mallick was the captain of the Padma Shri Shailene Manna football team. On the other hand, Kuntala Ghosh Dastidar was the captain of the Padmashri Goshta Pal football team. Apart from this, Rahim Nabi, Shasthi Dule, Subhash Chakraborty, Suraj Mondal, Shyam Mondal, Pradeep Naskar, Rakesh Prasad, Bhola Prasad etc. entered the field for the two teams.

After the game, Kalighat Sports Lovers Association General Secretary Babun Banerjee handed over the trophy to the players of the champion and runners team.
