BJP leader and DDC member for Khonmoh Er Aijaz Hussain Tuesday expressed his heartfelt grief and sorrow over the tragic boat capsize incident at Gandbal area of Lasjan-Soiteng stating that such incidents are heart wrenching and bring tears in everyone’s eyes.
In a statement issued here, Er Aijaz expressed grief over the loss of lives including mother and her two siblings stating that he feels the pain and grief that has descended on entire Gandbal and its adjacent area due to the tragic boat capsize incident. Er Aijaz while reaching out to the families of bereaved prayed for the highest standards in heaven for the deceased and speedy recovery of those rescued alive. Er Aijaz said he equally shares the grief and understands the pain and agony the family members of the deceased and the inhabitants are going through.
He urged the J&K administration to address the genuine concerns of the residents of Gandbal, Shivpora, Lasjan, Soiteng and Pantha Chowk-Nowgam bypass about construction of footbridges in these areas on a fast-track basis. “These bridges are significant to prevent incidents like Gandbal. I urge the administration to start the construction of foot-bridges in these areas on a fast track basis so that people of these areas can heave a sigh of relief,” Er Aijaz said, adding that he will also pursue the issue with the administration at his own level.
