Bengal News Grid ! Jump from the 65th floor of the military! The Durand Cup trophy was unveiled in a fancy way

On the rainy afternoon of July 25, Tilottama Kolkata witnessed a novel incident.  BASE jumping from the high-rise on Park Street to promote the upcoming 132nd Durand Cup.  Two retired captains of the Indian Army jumped from the roof of 'The 42', the highest multi-storied building not only in Kolkata but also in Eastern India. 


Retired jawan Captain Kamal Singh Oberth and Lt. Col. Satyendra Verma jumped from the 65th floor with the trophy.  The two Indian Army jawans opened their parachutes seconds after base jumping and landed easily on the ground.  Both were honored by Sports Minister Arup Biswas.  This innovative approach to promoting a football tournament has never been seen before.  


The Durand Tournament is going to start from August 3 at the Yuva Bharati Sports Complex in Kolkata.  After returning to Kolkata after visiting 14 cities, the Indian Army is jumping with the Durand Trophy today.  The trophy of the 132nd Durand Cup was unveiled in a novel way.
