World Environment Day was celebrated by planting trees

Staff Reporter, Howrah:- 5th June is World Environment Day.  Today is being observed all over the world with a pledge to protect the environment.  As a result of globalization the environment is getting polluted day by day.  If the environment is not protected, this world cannot be kept alive in the distant future.  Depletion of trees is one of the causes of environmental pollution.  

Day by day more and more trees are being cut down and big buildings are being built. And oxygen levels are decreasing and carbon dioxide levels are increasing day by day which is seriously damaging the environment.  So if we want to protect this environment we have to plant trees.

With the slogan "A tree is a life" ahead of the World Environment Day, the residents of Ward No. 11 of Howrah came forward to plant trees. They planted about 300 saplings today at different places.  This is how World Environment Day was celebrated.  All of you come forward and plant trees and save the environment otherwise it will not be possible to save the environment.
