G-20 awareness camp kick-starts at Lal Chowk Constituency’s Pandrethan area

A mega G-20 awareness camp campaign kick-started at Lal Chowk constituency’s Pandrethan area on Sunday where hundreds of youth exchange ideas on how the global meeting will help promote tourism, culture, art and overcome the challenges being posed by the climate challenges. The camp was addressed by DDC member and BJP leader Er Aijaz Hussain who expressed his gratitude and thanks to Prime Minister Narendera Modi stating that the G-20 meetings in Srinagar will give the Kashmir’s tourism potential a global push at a global platform and help showcase Kashmir’s great art, culture and heritage, besides finding solutions to challenges being posed by the climate change in J&K.


Many rounds of brain-storming sessions were held in the camp that marked the start of a massive awareness campaign on G-20 event slated in Srinagar from May 22 to May 24. Speaking on the occasion, Er Aijaz said that G-20 meetings and the foreign delegates who would attend it will help promote Kashmir as a world famous destination and peaceful area. He said that the prevailing peaceful atmosphere will help G-20 delegates spread a good word about Kashmir whose image was being projected as a violence prone area till 2019 given the cross-border terrorism being promoted by the perpetrators of terror sitting across the border.


The BJP leader said that today’s discussions entailed how the G-20 will help promote tourism potential of Kashmir through various means of technology and how challenges posed by Climate Change are to be dealt effectively to keep the natural flora and fauna intact in the Valley, also known as paradise. The participants of the meeting took a pledge to welcome the delegates of G-20 with open arms.

On the occasion BJP’s Social Media Co-Incharge Bilal Parary and Media Incharge Kashmir Manzoor Ahmed Bhat were also present on the occasion. Parray in his speech stated that Kashmir should cash in on G-20 event and look for a new dawn of tourism development. Bhat said such an international event could only be possible under the leadership of Modi and had there been any other party in power, G-20 wasn't possible. NGOs, intellectuals and civil society members also participated in the event and pledged to make people aware about G-20 event in rural areas of the valley. More such camps will be held in Lal Chowk constituency in the days ahead.
The program was also attended by Corporator Smt Shaheena Ji & Shri Lateef Ahmad Mir.
