The Lalit Great Eastern, one of the oldest luxury hotels in Asia, has been converted by AMRI Hospitals

News Desk : The
Lalit Great Eastern, one of the oldest luxury hotels in Asia, has been converted by AMRI Hospitals into a 100-bed satellite facility for mildly symptomatic COVID-19 patients. The hotel, which once hosted American author Mark Twain, Kings and Queens, World leaders and Nobel laureates, will be able to accommodate around 195 patients, across its single and double rooms.

The facility, which started admitting patients from late afternoon on May 12, 2021, will be providing all-round COVID care to patients admitted there, and has the option to add more number of beds by taking over other wings of the heritage hotel. The facility is equipped with 24x7 nursing care and doctors, oxygen support, Wi-Fi, and customised diet plans, based on advice of qualified dieticians.

At The Lalit Great Eastern satellite facility, AMRI Hospitals has also introduced Dozee Pro, the latest in remote patient monitoring system. The Dozee Pro is a mat, connected to censors and a pulse oxymeter, which is installed under the mattress of each bed, and will help monitor the vitals of all the patients. The system notes changes in a patient’s vitals through the patient’s physical vibrations and sends out signals to a laptop at the nursing station, from where nurses and doctors will be able to keep an eye on the condition of a patient.

*Mr Rupak Barua, Group CEO, AMRI Hospitals*, “We are very proud to say that today we have opened the satellite centre at The Lalit Great Eastern, which is one of the most prestigious and heritage hotels, where mildly symptomatic patients will be able to stay here comfortably. We have converted the hotel into a satellite facility, and it is equipped with round-the-clock nursing support and doctors at site, along with all emergency medicines, oxygen support, and necessary consumables.

This is the fourth hotel we have converted into a satellite facility, as part of our endeavour to fight the virus, and treat COVID patients.”
