Beyond the Lens :- Chandrima Roy’s 'Antorkotha' Explores the Power of Human Encouragement !!

Special Correspondent, Kolkata, June 11: How a small amount of encouragement from one person can completely transform another's life is the central theme of director Chandrima Roy's short film 'Antorkotha'.
The film revolves around Neela, the central character, who leaves a corrupt job to face an uncertain future. At this crossroads, she meets Abhik, a lonely elderly man. He reminds Neela of her long-lost dream: photography. Inspired by Abhik, Neela picks up her camera once again, capturing human lives, struggles, and emotions through her lens. Gradually, her work gains recognition. However, upon reaching the pinnacle of success, when she wishes to return to Abhik, she discovers he is no more. Only the path he showed remains.
Directed by Chandrima Roy, the film is produced by Indranil Sarkar. The cast includes Prabal Kumar Basu, Mandira Kundu, and Sujata Gayen. Subhankar Majumder handled the cinematography, Ribhu Bhowmick served as the editor, Tapan Sinha composed the music, and Prosenjit Sarkar managed the sound design.
A special offline screening of the film will take place at KIFALC on Saturday at 5:30 PM. On the same day at 9:30 PM, the online premiere and a 'Meet the Director' session will be held, organized by Talk & Talkies (TNT). The makers believe this initiative holds significant importance in bringing independent cinema to a wider audience.
