The West Bengal State Youth (Men and Women) and Junior (Boys and Girls) Boxing Championship 2026 event is being organized from 29th March to 31st March 2026 in association with Kolkata District Boxing Association, Alipore Sarvajanin Club Boxing Academy (Chetla).
Around 170 boxers from 15 districts of West Bengal will face each other for the team and individual championship in four categories – ‘Youth Men’, ‘Youth Women’, ‘Junior Boys’ and ‘Junior Girls’. Each category will include 10 different weight categories.
The boxers selected in this competition will represent the ‘West Bengal Youth Men and Women Boxing Team’. These teams will participate in the '8th National Youth Men/Women Boxing Championship' to be held at 'Assam Don Bosco University', located at Tapesiya, Sonapur, adjacent to Guwahati, Assam from 13th April to 19th April 2026.
Similarly, the 'Junior Boys and Girls' teams of West Bengal will participate in the '7th Under-17 Junior Boys and Girls National Boxing Championship' to be held at 'Divisional Sports Complex', located at Nagpur, Maharashtra from 4th April to 11th April 2026.
Hon'ble Mr. Firhad Hakim—Mayor, Kolkata and Acting Minister (Municipal and Urban Development Department), Government of West Bengal. Kunal Saha, Officer of Babun Banerjee Sanstha, and Saheb Das were present. Also present were eminent boxer Ali Qamar and shooter Joydeep Karmakar. The event was officially inaugurated on March 29, 2026 at 5:00 PM. The award ceremony and closing ceremony will be held on March 31, 2026 at 7:00 PM.
