Procam International, promoters of the world’s first World Athletics Gold Label Road Race, has ensured seamless execution and an enhanced race experience for the Tata Steel World 25K Kolkata, scheduled for Sunday, 21st December 2025. The press meet was held at the Media Centre at the iconic Red Road, where details of the race route and medical facilities were highlighted, along with the arrangements in place for over 23,000 on-ground and virtual participants.
The USD 142,214 prize money event also continues its commitment to equal prize money for men and women winners. Additionally, for the 10th edition, there is an additional bonus of USD 25,000 for breaking the world record of 1:11: 08. The event will also award ₹35,000, ₹25,000, and ₹10,000, respectively, to the top three amateur runners in both men’s and women’s categories across different age groups. Race Day proceedings will be live on Sony Sports 1 HD & SD, from 5:30 am onwards.

For the 2025 edition, with an early start and favourable Kolkata weather, all five race categories will start and finish at Red Road. With Vidyasagar Setu, closed on Sundays due to ongoing work, the course has been reimagined with the support of city authorities. Heading further south, runners will discover fresh stretches of the city, pass new landmarks like Tipu Sultan Mosque and Rabindra Sarobar, and take on a new challenge at the Lakes Flyover.

Runners are Tata Steel World 25K Kolkata's biggest stakeholders, and Procam continues to work to make the race day memorable for all participants.
FACILITIES ON-COURSE & IN-STADIA
For the convenience of the participants, the following facilities will be available along the route and at the start/finish:
Bisleri, Event’s Hydration Partner and India’s most trusted packaged drinking water, will provide 12 water stations, with a total of 78,000 litres of Bisleri water on the route.

At the Tata Steel Kolkata 25K, we are committed to hosting an eco-conscious event that prioritizes environmental responsibility, community welfare, and long-term sustainability. Our initiatives are designed to reduce waste, conserve resources, and promote greener choices among participants, partners, and the larger city ecosystem.
Key Sustainability Initiatives
§ 100% Waste-Managed Event - All waste generated is responsibly managed through source segregation and recycling, ensuring zero to landfills.
§ Zero-Waste Refill Points - Participants are encouraged to Bring Their Own Bottle (BYOB) and refill at hydration stations across the venue to reduce single-use plastic.
§ Paperless Processes – including Online registrations, Digital confirmations and event communications and Digital handbooks for participants.
§ Plastic-Free Bib & Kit Distribution - Participant kits are handed out without plastic packaging, using eco-friendly materials wherever possible.
§ Sustainable Event Bags - Reusable cloth or backpack bags are provided at the Expo, minimizing waste from single-use bags.
§ Recycling of Event Branding - Branding materials such as flex and banners will be repurposed into roofing sheets, medium sheets for street vendors, and shopping bags for communities in need.
§ Waste Segregation at Source - Dedicated bins for Dry, Tetra Pak, PET, and Organic Waste ensure efficient recycling and composting.
§ Composting of Organic Waste- All wet waste will be collected and composted through verified partners to support soil health.
§ Recycling of Paper & Cardboard - All paper/cardboard waste from the Expo and race day will be diverted for recycling.
§ Water Conservation Initiative- Water left over from partially consumed bottles will be carefully collected and used to water the nearby plants, ensuring responsible use of resources and supporting local greenery
§ Digital Signage - Minimizing printed materials by using LED and digital boards for all major event communications.
§ Bicycle-Friendly Access - Bicycle stands will be available at YMCA and Town Ground to encourage participants to cycle to the event.
§ Food Redistribution - Excess edible food will be donated to the underprivileged through NGOs such as Little Sisters of the Poor.
§ Biodiversity Survey - A biodiversity survey is conducted to document and assess the local flora and fauna, helping us understand the ecological impact of the event and support conservation efforts.
§ World Athletics Assessment - All our sustainability initiatives are designed in alignment with World Athletics guidelines. World Athletics also evaluates these efforts and provides an official sustainability ranking for the event, recognizing our commitment to responsible and eco-friendly practices.
