The two-day District Pulwama Thang-Ta Championship 2024 concluded at Government Degree College Pampore on Sunday. The championship was organized by the District Pulwama Thang-Ta Association, affiliated with the J&K Thang-Ta Association.
More than 250 players, both boys and girls, from across district Pulwama participated in the event, showcasing their martial arts skills. The competition witnessed intense matches with Pampore emerging victorious, securing the 1st position, followed by Tral in 2nd place, and Kakapora taking the 3rd spot.
BJP's DDC member from Khunmoh and Hajj Committee member, Er Ajaz Hussain, graced the closing ceremony as the chief guest. He lauded the efforts of the players and the organizers for successfully holding the championship in the area.
During the ceremony, Er Ajaz Hussain, along with other dignitaries and members of the Thang-Ta Association, distributed medals to the winners and congratulated all participants for their dedication and hard work. He encouraged the participants to continue striving for excellence in sports and to make their mark in future events.
The event was a significant success and served as a platform to promote Thang-Ta, a traditional martial art form, among the youth of Pulwama.
