RAJ KISHORE GUPTA was born on 30.06.1944 in the city of Calcutta. He completed his schooling from Arya Vidyalaya, Calcutta. He further completed his Graduation from City College (Calcutta University), Calcutta and thereafter got himself enrolled for the LL.B course at the Faculty of Law, Calcutta University. Throughout his Graduation days he was a prominent student leader in the Calcutta University. He had represented Ward No. 27 as an elected Councillor to the Kolkata Municipal Corporation from the year 1985 to 2005 and thereafter from 2010 to 2015. He also contested the elections for the Legislative Assembly from the 158 Burtolla Constituency in the year 2006. During his life time he had held various political posts in the North Calcutta District and PCC. He was a veteran Congress and TMC Leader and a great philanthropist. He was also associated with various religious, cultural and social organizations. He expired today i.e. on 09.10.2023 at around 3:00 pm.
