Srinagar, June 10: Union Minister for Food, Public Distribution and Consumer Affairs, Ashwini Kumar Choubey today arrived in Srinagar on official visit and later in evening interacted with the party workers and corporates and sought feedback from the workers about party activities.
The Union Minister expressed his gratitude over growing popularity of Prime Minister Narendera Modiji in Kashmir and mass acceptance to BJP. He stated that there was a need for a collective approach to make party more vibrant in the Valley.
He also stated that there were 72.40 lakh beneficiaries registered with the CA&PD department and his ministry was taking every step to streamline the quality and quantity for the J&K UT. He also stressed for planting five trees a day at Panchayat level across the UT to counter climate change and to keep the green cover of J&K intact.
Present on the occasion were senior party leaders and BJP corporators. Senior BJP leader and DDC member for Khonmoh Er Aijaz Hussain along with district present BJP for Srinagar raked up the issue of ration sought 10 kg ration per head in Kashmir instead of 5 kgs.
Choubey is also the Minister for Environment and Climate Change. “I discussed the issue of ration with the Union Minister and sought immediate increase in the ration from 5gs per head to 10 kgs per head. The Union Minister gave a patient hearing and I am hopeful for the increase in ration quota soon,” Er Aijaz said. Residents across Kashmir have been complaining of ration shortage since the past few months and demanding an increase in the ration quota.
