RoundGlass Tennis Academy’s Karman Kaur Thandi selected for the Asian Games tennis squad


Mohali, June,2023 :  RoundGlass Tennis Academy athlete, Karman Kaur Thandi, has secured a place for herself in India’s women’s tennis squad for the upcoming Asian Games. 


The All India Tennis Association announced a 12-member tennis contingent for the Games, which will be hosted in Hangzhou, China from September 23 to October 8. There will be six players each in the men’s and women’s squads. 




Karman will be representing India alongside Ankita Raina, Rutuja Bhosle, Prarthana Thombare, Vaidehi Chaudhari, and Sahaja Yamlapalli. The tennis events at Asian Games are scheduled to be held from September 24-30.



Karman is currently 234th in the WTA singles rankings and is the second-ranked women’s player in the country. She has been performing well in recent ITF tournaments including W60 Sumter Palmetto Pro Open held in the US where she finished runner-up to the title.




Renowned coach and Technical Director of RoundGlass Tennis Academy, Aditya Sachdeva, and his team have been training Karman at the Academy. Speaking about her inclusion in the team, coach Sachdeva said, “We are extremely proud of Karman Kaur Thandi’s inclusion in the India team for the Hangzhou Asian Games. 




She has recovered from her injury and recently finished runner-up in the W60 Sumter Open. This is a testament to her hard work and perseverance.”
