Srinagar, June 07: Member Haj Committee of India (HCoI) Er Aijaz and chairperson J&K Haj Committee Safeena Baig today visited the Haj House Srinagar to see off the first batch of 630 pilgrims. Er Aijaz also reviewed the arrangements for pilgrims at Haj house and interacted with the pilgrims who expressed their gratitude to the HCoI member for up to the mark facilities and arrangements.
Er Aijaz Hussain reached the Haj house early in the morning and was joined by chairperson J&K Haj Committee Safeena Baigh. They flagged off the first batch of 630 pilgrims from Haj house to Srinagar International airport. Er Aijaz interacted with the staff members at Haj house and sought their feedback about the facilities put in place. On the occasion, scores of pilgrims including elderly ones hugged Er Aijaz and prayed for his wellbeing and Kashmir.
The pilgrims expressed their satisfaction for the smooth facilitation and arrangements in place this year. Speaking on the occasion, Er Aijaz said that this year, there would be better facilities for Haj pilgrims from India including those from J&K in Mecca and Madina. He said transportation and hotel accommodations will be smoother for the pilgrims this year and helpline numbers will be provided to each pilgrim in case of any urgency. Er Aijaz said that this year, 12000 pilgrims from J&K will perform Haj this year, which is higher than previous years.
Later, Er Aijaz along with Safeena Baig visited Srinagar International Airport where they joined LG Manoj Sinha, Cheif Secretary Shri Arun Mehta , ADGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar, Secretary Tourism Syed Abid RashidDC Budgam and other officials from the administration. LG Sinha interacted with the pilgrims and sought their feedback on the arrangements put in place by the Haj Committee of J&K. The pilgrims prayed for the well-being of J&K UT and assured the LG Sinha that they will pray for everlasting peace in the UT at Mecca and Madina cities. LG Sinha along with other officials of the administration flagged off the first Haj flight from Srinagar. The flight will directly land at Jeddah Airport. After a gap of almost a decade, direct Haj flights from Srinagar to Jeddah were started by the HCoI for the smooth travel of Haj pilgrims.
