Metro Railway has got ‘Corporate Citizen of Bengal’ Award. For outstanding and satisfactory service for passengers welfare and satisfaction, SteppinOut Night Market in association with International Institute of Hotel Management has honoured Kolkata Metro with this prestigious award today i.e. on 19.11.2022.
Shri Satyaki Nath, Principal Chief Operations Manager received the award on behalf of Kolkata Metro at a function today i.e. on 19.11.2022 at a City Hotel. Shri Arun Arora, General Manager has expressed his happiness and congratulated all the members of Metro family for winning this award.
It is to be noted that Kolkata Metro is the lifeline of City of Joy and it provides quick, economical and pollution-free transport to all. At present Metro carries nearly 7 lakh passengers daily from Dakshineswar to Kavi Subhas on North-South Corridor (Blue Line) and Salt Lake Sector-V to Sealdah on East-West Corridor (Green Line). A number of Metro projects will be commissioned very shortly thus expanding Metro network. Two such new projects Joka to Taratala of Joka-Esplanade Metro Corridor (Purple Line) and New Garia to Hemanta Mukherjee of Kavi Subhas to Biman Bandar Corridor (Orange Line) are going to be commissioned very shortly.
Recently in the non-fare revenue section, Metro Railway has achieved remarkable progress and some noticeable changes in branding are visible in and around Metro station areas. Many national brands have come forward to become a part of the innovative initiatives that Metro has taken to boosts its earnings. These ideas have not only increased Metro earnings but also made Metro premises more beautiful and attractive and at the same time made Metro operations more economically viable in the City of Joy.
